It also applies to information we collect through email, text, and other electronic communications between You and the Company, including inquiries about speaking engagements, consulting services, and media appearances. When accessing the Website, the Company will learn certain information about You, both automatically and through voluntary actions You may take, during Your visit.

This Website Is Not a Medical Service

The Company is not a covered entity or business associate under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act ("HIPAA"), and this Website is not a HIPAA-protected service. Any information You send to us through this Website, by email, or through any other communication is not protected health information under HIPAA and does not receive HIPAA protections.

Please do not send medical records, test results, or details about any individual's diagnosis, symptoms, or treatment. If You send this kind of information anyway, we will handle it with care under this Privacy Policy, but we cannot offer HIPAA protections, and no clinical relationship is created by doing so. Please see our Disclaimer for more information.

Children and Minors

Our Website and its content are directed to individuals who are 18 years of age or older, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If You are under 18, please do not use this Website, register for any of our programs or products, or provide any information about Yourself to us.

If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13 without verification of parental consent, we will delete that information. If You believe we might have information from or about a child under 13, please contact us at contact@christinaprathermd.com.

Types of Information We Collect About You

When You access the Website, the Company will learn certain information about You during Your visit.

Information You Provide To Us. We collect information that You choose to provide, including when You complete a contact or inquiry form, subscribe to our newsletter, download a resource or other gated material, register for a webinar or live event, enroll in an online course, or correspond with us by email or through other channels. The information we collect in these situations generally includes Your name, email address, phone number, organization, job title, and any other information You choose to include in Your message or registration.

Information We Collect Through Automatic Data Collection Technology. As You navigate our Website, we use automatic data collection technologies such as cookies, server logs, and analytics software to collect certain information about Your device, browsing actions, and patterns, and how You use our site. This generally includes Your IP address and approximate location, the type of device and browser You use, Your internet connection, Your operating system, the pages You view, the time and duration of Your visit, and the site You came from.

We use this information in aggregate form to understand which content is useful to our visitors, to improve the Website, and to maintain its security and performance. To the extent that You voluntarily provide personal information to us, our systems will associate the automatically collected information with Your personal information.

Use of Cookies

A cookie is a small text file that a website asks Your browser to store on Your device. Like most websites, we use cookies and server logs to collect information about how our site is used. This may include the date and time of Your visit, the pages You view, the time You spend on our site, the site You visited just before ours, and Your IP address.

We use cookies to keep the Website functioning properly and to support the analytics described above. Most browsers allow You to refuse or delete cookies through their settings, although some parts of the Website may not work as intended if You do.

We do not use advertising pixels, retargeting technologies, or behavioral advertising on this Website.

Third-Party Content, Links, and Cookies

Our Website links to third-party platforms, including social media sites such as LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram, video platforms such as YouTube, and podcast hosting services. When You follow one of these links, You leave our Website, and the privacy policy of that third party governs the information they collect about You.

Some pages on our Website may embed video or audio players hosted by third parties, such as YouTube or a podcast platform. When a page containing an embedded player loads, that third party may set cookies or collect information about Your device and viewing activity, even if You do not play the content. This collection is governed by that provider's privacy policy.

We do not control the third-party platforms we link to or the providers of any embedded content, and we are not responsible for their tracking technologies or how they use the information they collect. If You have questions about a third party's practices, please contact that provider directly.

Courses, Webinars, and Gated Resources

If You register for an online course, a webinar, a live event, or a gated resource, we collect the registration information You provide and information about Your participation, such as whether You attended a session or completed a course module.

Our online courses are hosted by LearnWorlds. When You create an account or enroll in a course, LearnWorlds collects and processes Your information as our service provider and under its own privacy policy in addition to this one. This may include Your account credentials, Your course progress and activity, and any information You submit through course assignments, quizzes, or discussion features. You can review LearnWorlds' privacy policy at www.learnworlds.com.

Our webinars and live events may be delivered through other third-party platforms. When You register or create an account on one of these platforms, that platform collects and processes Your information under its own privacy policy in addition to this one. We will identify the platform we are using at the point of registration so that You can review its policy before signing up.

If You purchase a course or other product, payment is processed by a third-party payment processor integrated with our course platform. We do not collect or store full payment card numbers. Your payment information is handled by that processor under its own privacy and security practices, and You can review that processor's privacy policy at checkout before completing a purchase.

Email Information & Policies

If You choose to correspond with us through email, we may retain the content of Your email messages, Your email address, and our responses. We provide the same protections for these electronic communications we employ to maintain information received online, by mail, and by telephone. This also applies when You register for an online course, webinar, or other activity through our Website, or sign up through any of our forms using Your email address.

We are committed to keeping Your email address confidential. We do not sell, rent, or lease our subscription lists to third parties and will not disclose Your email address to any third parties except as allowed in the Disclosure of Your Information section.

If You subscribe to our newsletter, download a resource, register for a webinar or event, or enroll in a course, we will add You to our email list so that we can send You related information, resources, and announcements. You may unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of any email we send, or by emailing contact@christinaprathermd.com.

In compliance with the CAN-SPAM Act, our commercial emails clearly identify the sender, include a valid physical postal address, and provide clear instructions for removing Yourself from our mailing list so that You receive no further email communication from us.

Why We Collect Information

We use the information we collect to respond to Your inquiries and requests, to deliver the resources, courses, events, webinars, and services You have asked for, to carry out any agreement between You and the Company, to send You newsletters and information about our work, to administer our business activities, and to maintain and improve the Website. As a visitor to this Website, You can engage in most activities without providing any personal information.

Disclosure of Your Information

We do not sell, rent, or lease information collected from You.

We may disclose Your personal information to service providers who perform functions on our behalf, such as email delivery, website hosting, analytics, course and event platforms, and payment processing. These providers may use Your information only to provide services to us.

We may disclose Your personal information to a third party, including a lawyer or our payment processor, to enforce our terms of service or any other agreement between You and the Company.

We may provide Your information to any successor in interest in the event of a merger, divestiture, restructuring, reorganization, dissolution, or other sale or transfer of some or all of the Company’s assets and/or business.

We may disclose information when we believe in good faith that the law requires it, when compelled by a court or governmental authority, or when necessary to protect our legal rights or the safety of any person.

How We Protect Your Information and Secure Information Transmissions

We employ commercially reasonable methods to protect the information You provide and the information we collect automatically. The Website is served over an encrypted HTTPS connection using current TLS protocols, and we work only with established third-party service providers.

Email is not a secure medium of communication. For that reason, we ask that You not send us confidential or sensitive information by email. If You choose to do so, You do so at Your own risk.

For site security purposes, and to keep the Website available to all users, we or our service providers monitor network traffic to identify unauthorized attempts to access, upload, or change information, or to otherwise cause damage.

No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee the absolute security of Your information.

Data Retention

We retain the information You provide for as long as it remains relevant to the purposes described in this policy, including maintaining a record of our professional correspondence and relationships, delivering courses and resources You have registered for, and administering our business.
Newsletter subscriber information is retained until You unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. We may retain information longer where required by law or where necessary to establish or defend legal claims, and we may keep records of Your requests regarding Your personal information in order to document our compliance.
You may ask us to delete information we hold about You at any time, as described in Your Privacy Rights below.

Your Privacy Rights

Depending on where You live, You may have certain rights regarding Your personal information. We extend the following rights to all our visitors, regardless of location:

The right to confirm whether we are processing Your personal data and to request access to it. The right to correct inaccuracies in Your personal data. The right to request that we delete Your personal data. The right to obtain a copy of Your personal data in a portable format. The right to seek restrictions on, or to object to, our processing of Your data. And, where our processing is based on Your consent, the right to withdraw that consent at any time, without affecting the lawfulness of processing that occurred before Your withdrawal.

To exercise any of these rights, email us at contact@christinaprathermd.com. We will respond to Your request within a reasonable period, and ordinarily within 45 days of receiving it. We may need to verify Your identity before acting on a request, and we may decline a request where the law permits or requires us to do so.

If we decline Your request, we will explain why, and You may appeal that decision by replying to our response within a reasonable period. We will inform You in writing of our decision on the appeal, along with a written explanation of the reasons for it. If Your appeal is denied, You may submit a complaint to the Virginia Attorney General at oag.state.va.us, or to the supervisory authority with jurisdiction over data protection matters where You live.

We collect only the information reasonably needed for the purposes described in this policy, and we will not require You to consent to unnecessary processing as a condition of working with us.

"Do Not Track" and Browser Privacy Signals

Some internet browsers and extensions allow users to send "Do Not Track" requests or Global Privacy Control signals to the sites they visit. Because there is no consistent industry or legal standard for responding to Do Not Track requests, we do not currently respond to them. Global Privacy Control signals communicate a request to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information for targeted advertising. We do not sell Your personal information or use it for targeted advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of.

Policy Changes

Christina Prather, MD, PLLC reserves the right to change this Privacy Policy as we may deem necessary from time to time or as may be required by law. Any changes will be immediately posted on the Web Site and you are deemed to have accepted the terms of the Policy on your first use of the Web Site following the alterations. We will post any changes we make to this Privacy Policy on this page and update the revision date below. If we make material changes to how we treat Your personal information, we will notify our newsletter subscribers by email and post a notice on the Website home page. We encourage You to review this policy periodically for any changes.
